The Deering Estate (16701 SW 72nd Ave, Miami, FL 33157) is a 444-acre Miami-Dade County park and historic site in Palmetto Bay — a protected natural area featuring a 1920s Mediterranean Revival stone house, a 1900s wooden Richmond Cottage, and one of the last intact subtropical coastal environments in Miami-Dade. Open Thursday–Tuesday 10 AM–4 PM; general admission $15 adults, $7 children (4–14). Guided tours run most mornings.
The site hosts the annual Deering Estate Art Festival each January, one of South Florida's premier outdoor art events drawing 10,000+ visitors — and the adjacent parking area on SW 72nd Avenue fills within the first hour on festival days. Bus drop-off is available in the main lot on SW 72nd Avenue; contact the estate at 305-235-1668 for group visit coordination. From central Kendall, the drive is about 15 minutes south via Old Cutler Road through Pinecrest.
